Tips for doing magic mushrooms in Nova Scotia
Before getting into things, there are a few points you should keep in mind before any shroom trip:
- Spending time at home or at a local nature spot often makes for the best psychedelic experience.
- Bring a friend or family member along with you anytime you plan to be under the influence of shrooms.
- Don’t drive anywhere for at least 6-8 hours post-trip. Better yet, only partake once you’ve reached your intended destination.
- When in doubt, just play things safe and microdose.

Crystal Crescent Beach
Crystal Crescent Beach is a popular sport for beachgoers of all backgrounds and ages. As many as 300 people come to this beach each weekend, probably thanks to its winning combo of convenient location and amazing views.
What most of them probably don’t know, however, is that this beach has a well-kept secret: it’s got a nudist/naturalist-friendly section.
Reaching this clothing-optional spot requires walking 20 minutes past the clothing-required area. If you’re a naturalist, you’ll probably find the hike worth it.
Halifax Waterfront
The Halifax waterfront is known and loved by locals and tourists alike.
Maybe it’s the glistening oceanfront. Maybe it’s the bustling port. Or maybe it’s the eclectic vendors?
Regardless, walking the waterfront is a great way to experience Canada’s best. Traverse it by foot, bike or rollerblades (if you’re feeling extra adventurous). There’s a reason it’s the most visited attraction in Nova Scotia.
Camp along the Cabot Trail
The Cabot Trail is a hundreds-of-miles-long driving route — one of the most famous such routes in all of Canada.
And the Trail provides more than just scenic views. It also gives visitors plenty of opportunities for hiking, camping, boating, fishing, and whale watching. Dozens of newly-updated campsites can be found along the trail.
Land creatures are also abundant here, so don’t be surprised if you see bears, moose, or bald eagles during your camping stay!
Halifax Public Gardens
The Halifax Public Gardens is the only remaining Victoria Gardens in all of North America. Established in 1874, the Gardens have consistently been a hit for nearly 150 years. They’re usually open from May til November, though this year things may get delayed because of COVID. In the summertime, concerts and festivals grace the place. Halifax Public Gardens are renowned for their tree-lined trails, pristine lawns, and carefully constructed flower beds. Statues, bridges, ponds, fountains, and plenty of other architecture complete the look. Not bad for a park that’s right in the middle of the city! As great as the Gardens are, keep in mind there are some restrictions. No pets, bicycling, jogging, smoking, or bird feeding are allowed. On the bright side, there’s no restirctions on tripping!
Halifax nude beach
Known as Crystal Crescent beach, this Halifax spot has been a boon for nudists and naturalists for decades. It’s a favourite spot of The Bluenose Naturist Society, who sites freedom from judgment, body shaming, and tan lines as some of their biggest reasons for dropping the clothes. Check out the beach for yourself if you’re feeling adventurous! Other top nudist-friendly spots include Long Lake, Williams Lake, and Tea Lake. Williams Lake is known and loved for its many rocky jump-offs — you know, if you’ve always wanted to fly through the air completely naked.
